What languages can lessons be conducted in?
Instruction can be provided in English and German.
Do I need my own instrument?
Yes, every student needs their own instrument! There are numerous music shops and ateliers around Berlin where you can rent or purchase an instrument. I'm happy to provide assistance to help you find a suitable instrument.
What about instructional materials?
If you have a book already, we can work from that! If you do not yet have one, I can bring one to your first lesson or I can send you a link where you can order it yourself. Students are responsible for the cost of teaching materials.
If you have a particular song you'd like to learn, I can help you find an arrangement and we can work on it in lessons as well.
At what age should a child begin music lessons?
It depends! When a child can focus for 30 minutes, then we're ready to begin! This generally tends to be between 5-7 years old, but I have taught some students as young as four.
Do I have to take lessons every week?
While weekly lessons are optimal for steady progress, it is also possible to schedule lessons every other week or as-needed.
